Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW)
Aim
The Emergency First Aid Course is mainly to help and comfort the suddenly ill, injured person. It is a temporary care till the competent Emergency Medical service Arrive.
Previous learning requirements
There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification. This is a one-day course; all successful candidates should be able to ensure:
- Understand the role of the first aider
- The importance of Protect cross infection
- Use of available First Aid equipment
- Assess the situation and circumstances in order to act safely, promptly and effectively in an emergency
- Administer first aid to a casualty who is unconscious (including seizure)
- Administer cardiopulmonary resuscitation
- Administer first aid to a casualty who is choking
- Administer first aid to a casualty who is wounded and bleeding
- Administer first aid to a casualty who is suffering from shock
- Provide appropriate first aid for minor injuries (including small cuts, grazes and bruises, minor burns and scalds, small splinters)
- The importance of recording incidents and actions
This course is very important to any person who is responsible First Aider for any company or own work station. Most work place have least a one person fully trained to deal with any suddenly ill, injured person. This could be their colleagues or customer. This a legal requirement in many country. It is also important that to ensure all course, certificate is issued by own country health and safety approved centre
Participant Eligibility Criteria
- Age 19+
- Employment status: Employed
- With companies 1-249 employees
- Other T & C applies.
